Donations of all sizes are welcome! We have many needs to ensure the safety and fulfillment of protection for our community. Here are just some of the specific ways that your dollars are responsibly used by the Woodbury Police K9 Fund:

To purchase a K9 from a reputable breeder, it costs anywhere from $15,000 to $20,000 depending on the skills, training, and needs of the dog.

Each of our K9s is provided a custom-fit kevlar vest that is made from the same material that their human handler wears. They cost approximately $4,000 each.

When our K9s retire from service, their Handlers can “purchase” them from the City of Woodbury for $1. The K9 Fund then provides a $3,000 retirement fund for the care and feeding of the K9.

Our K9s can suffer injuries in the field just like their human handlers. The K9 Fund helps with significant injuries or illnesses, as needed.

At the end of the K9s life, the Woodbury Police K9 Fund pays for whatever needs they have to ensure a kind and respectful end of life.
Contributions made to the Woodbury Police K9 Fund are tax deductible as defined by the IRS Revenue Code. The Woodbury Police K9 Fund is an independent tax-exempt public entity with 501(c)3 status.
